Hi there, I’m Mimi!

Hi there, I’m Mimi!

I’m a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist offering telehealth therapy for children, teens, adults, couples, and families. I provide support across the lifespan, and most often work with clients ages 6 and up. My work is rooted in creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and gently grounded, where you can feel seen, understood, and free to be yourself.

I specialize in expressive arts therapy and gently offer creative approaches like art, play, storytelling, music, movement, and nature when it feels comfortable for you. No artistic experience is needed, as the focus is on the process and your unique journey. I take a collaborative, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach, and also draw from evidence-based practices like CBT and DBT to support each client’s unique needs and goals.

I am neurodiversity-affirming and have experience supporting individuals with ADHD and autism. I am also culturally mindful in my work, and I bring an awareness of each person’s background, identity, and story into the space. As a Filipino immigrant who has called the United States home for many years, I value honoring the cultural contexts that shape who we are, whether your roots are here, elsewhere, or woven through your family’s journey.

I support individuals, couples, and families as they navigate big feelings, life transitions, self-esteem, and challenges within relationships, school, work, or social life. This can include experiences like burnout, ongoing stress, fears, and deeper wounds such as trauma and emotional hurts.

I also support those moving through grief and loss, including pet loss, as well as low mood and anxiety. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply in need of a supportive space to process and reflect, you are welcome here.

I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families across different stages of life. When working with families, I value collaboration in supporting children and teens and often take a family systems approach, helping strengthen communication, build healthy boundaries, and deepen connection, while being mindful of each family’s unique dynamics and cultural context. This also includes supporting adult family relationships and fostering connection across all stages of life. When working with couples, I value supporting them as they nurture connection, strengthen communication, and move through challenges together. I hold the relationship as something to be cared for and supported, and I aim to walk alongside both partners with understanding and compassion. My goal is to create a nonjudgmental space where each person feels safe, heard, and valued. When working with individuals, I hold the belief that you are the expert of your own story. I hope to walk alongside you with care, offering a space to explore, reflect, and grow at your own pace.

As a Christian, my faith is an important part of who I am and how I care for others. I’m open to integrating faith into our work if that feels meaningful to you, in whatever way feels comfortable and supportive, whether that includes prayer, Scripture, or simply your personal beliefs. I also warmly welcome and respect clients from all backgrounds and walks of life.

At the heart of my work is the belief that every person has inherent value, dignity, and purpose. I strive to meet each person with compassion, respect, and care, honoring who you are and the story you carry. Whether you’re navigating something difficult or simply seeking a place to grow, you are welcome here. 😊🌺
